Ed started his career in testing and inspection in 1977 as an underwater NDT technician working overseas in the offshore oil industry. In 1983, Ed put his NDT skills to use for a testing agency in San Francisco on numerous high-rise construction projects and became proficient in concrete, masonry, and steel inspection. In 1986, Ed became state certified as a hospital inspector and started a small consulting business called Inspection Services which was later incorporated as King Construction Inspection, Inc. Since 1987, Ed has provided consulting work as a construction manager and inspector on hospital and school projects throughout the Bay Area.

John has just completing his lead inspection duties on the UCSF Mission Bay Block 20 Student Housing project, which consists of four prestressed concrete structures from 7 to 15 stories, approx. 425,000 gsf. John began his career in 1982 as a lab assistant for an asphalt plant. He eventually became the Supervisor for 2 labs, then progressed to special inspections for buildings, highways and bridges. He was an inspector for the Kaiser Walnut Creek ER Expansion and an MOB for Humana Hospitals. His technical expertise in concrete structures along with his ability to work within a highly structured environment has proven to be a valuable asset to the projects he has completed.

Steve Boucher

Mr. Boucher has 14 years experience as a Superintendent/Foreman for various construction firms in Northern California. For the last 3 years, Mr. Boucher has been providing Inspector of Record services for DSA/Title 24/California Building Code public school projects. For these projects, he provides full time inspection and when requested by owner, coordinates and supervises the special inspection and materials testing services. He works with the DSA site representative, the owner’s representative, architects and engineers, and the construction contractor to insure that construction is in accordance with the construction schedule and the approved plans and specifications. He regularly attends progress meetings, reviews schedules, and prepares daily and semi monthly reports. Steve is currently the IOR for the $135 million Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center in San Leandro.

Mr. Soracco has been an Inspector of Record since 1986. He has extensive DSA Class I experience with California school districts as well as with the California Department of Corrections, corporate clients such as Circuit City and the Pruneyard III office building, and OSHPD jurisdiction hospital construction.

Recent projects include the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital at the Stanford Medical Center, seven school sites for the Campbell Union School District, IOR for the $13 million, 5 MGD ACWD Desalination Faciliyt in Neward, CA, IOR for the new underground utilities for Tamalpais and Redwood High Schools.

Mr. Soracco is skilled with word processing and Windows programs. He has a lap top computer and all daily diaries are in Word.

He specialized in inspection of pre-stressed post-tensioned concrete structures, roofing and waterproofing and offers an excellent knowledge of plans and specifications. Mr. Hanamura has effective interfacing skills with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors, as well as strong public relations with customers, subordinates, and all levels of management.

Mr. Zehringer has over 23 years of experience in testing and inspection specifically on large UCSF projects such as Mission Bay Building 24, the UCSF New Medical Library, the UCSF Library Release Space, the UCSF Koret Vision Center, and the UCSF Mt. Zion Research Facility. He is currently dedicated to the supervision of our field inspection activities for the Mission Bay Building 19B project. Ken has proven his abilities over and over again on many large projects in a university setting. Perhaps his most valuable asset is working with the construction team to problem solve structural issues to the satisfaction of all parties involved: the owner, the design team, and the contractor.
